Always a favourite in our house. I use shortcut on the bottom and flaky pastry on top. Less greasy.
I add peas or grated zucchini to add a little moisture. I sprinkle a little polenta in the pan before the pastry. Stops soggy bottom. Just things I've learnt over the years.
All good
My Mum used to make this every summer while on holiday when I was a kid. 30 odd years later, I’m pleased to make it for my children over the summer break. Easy to follow recipe, never fails.
Looks ok, while it's in the oven cooking, rough and ready.
Will definitely recommend.
best ever no crazy add ins just bacon and eggs
There are never any crumbs left from my pies.
I also add sliced cooked potatoes, roasted pumpkin.and kumara, in fact any left over veges are great to add to a pie.
I use the pie for picnics, lunches, or just in the fridge as an extra if visitors or grandchildren pop in. They are always hungry.
Nice pie
